Amir Khan faces off with WBC Middleweight champion Canelo AlvarezIt’s not a Pay Per View event these days unless both fighters sit in a dark, cramped room and have a cosy chinwag with a few verbal barbs thrown in. Canelo Alvarez vs Amir Khan is no exception to the rule. Both marquee warriors, along with their esteemed trainers, recently met up for a chat with Max Kellerman as part of HBO’s long-running Face Off series.

Both sides touched on tactics, the threat level across the table, plus the significance of their 155-pound catchweight dustup. Catch the HBO Canelo vs Khan Face Off below:

Whether you subsribe to the theory that ‘a good big man will always beat a good small one’ or that Khan’s speed will negate Canelo’s size advantage, this looks like an unmissable affair either way. Canelo (46-1-1, 32 KO), the WBC and RING Middleweight king, will be meeting with Khan (31-3, 19 KO) in what should be a filled-to-the-rafters T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Canelo currently rides Boxing Base’s Middleweight No.2 spot, and Khan No.2 at Welterweight. Expect plenty of partisan support from a very vocal Mexican and British crowd.

Middleweight puncher David Lemieux will be hoping to return to winning ways against Glen Tapia in the co-main event, joined by fellow 160-pounder Curtis Stevens who will be clashing with prospect Patrick Teixeira. A toss-up Welterweight scrap between Frankie Gomez and Mauricio Herrera will be kicking off the night’s action.
