Anthony Joshua and Charles Martin face offThe IBF title clash between Anthony Joshua and Charles Martin may be a while off, but things are already looking a little heated. Behind the Gloves cameras captured the pair locking eyes earlier today at the Joshua vs Martin kickoff press conference in London. See the action below.

Though Joshua is the betting favorite right now, the newly crowned IBF champ Martin should present a decent enough challenge for Joshua. Let’s all remind ourselves for a second that this is only Joshua’s sixteenth fight, after all. There’s no need for the British standout to rush into the ring with dangerous predators like Deontay Wilder – or even a Lucas Browne – just yet.

Going in, Joshua carries an intimidating 15 wins and 15 knockouts, with only the well-schooled Dillian Whyte managing to take Joshua beyond the 3rd round last December. Martin’s record is pretty much filled with soft opposition, but he did look fairly sharp against then Top 10 ranked Vyacheslav Glazkov in January to capture the IBF strap. (Well, you know, until Glazkov’s knee popped out in the 3rd to force a Retirement verdict).

Martin is undefeated, nonetheless, and will enter the ring with 23 wins, 21 knockouts and 1 draw. It’s worth noting that Martin is a youthful 29 years of age, a southpaw, and stands just an inch shorter than Joshua at 6’ 5”.
