Boxing Base reports on the Bradley vs Rios undercardVasyl Lomachenko vs Romulo Koasicha

At the Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, Vasyl Lomachenko put in another boxing masterclass en route to stopping Romulo Koasicha in the 10th round. Koasicha finally wilted under his foe’s relentless pressure, taking a knee following a hard body shot. The brave, spirited Mexican choose to remain on the canvas, and really, who can blame him?

Lomachenko of course should have been in the ring with a tougher test, but fans of near-flawless boxing ability will have been pleased to see the 27-year-old standout back in action. The Ukranian showcased tremendous offensive and defensive skills throughout which, when coupled with phenomenal footwork, made him far too much for Koasicha to handle.

A good win for Lomachenko, indeed, but we really need to see him in with bigger game. Hopefully the Guillermo Rigondeaux fight can be made now that the Cuban is a free agent. Vasyl Lomachenko moves up to 5 wins, 1 defeat, with 3 knockouts, having defended his WBO Featherweight title in the process. Romulo Koasicha drops to 25 wins, 5 defeats, with 15 knockouts.

Ryota Murata vs Gunnar Jackson

Olympic medalist and prospect Ryota Murato would have prefered things to have gone a lot differently in his US pro debut. Not because Murato lost or experienced any diffiulties, but because outclassed opponent Gunnar Jackson managed to go the full 10 rounds.

Yes, despite being outgunned throughout and losing via shutout scores on the cards, Jackson kept throwing punches, proving that, if anything, he is one of boxing’s most durable fighters. Murata now improves to 8 wins, no defeats, 5 knockouts, while Jackson falls to 22 wins, 7 defeats, 3 draws, 8 knockouts.
