Thurman vs Collazo - Keith Thurman calls out Floyd MayweatherHot prospect and Welterweight contender Keith Thurman (25-0, 21 KO) has now officially called out Floyd Mayweather. Nobody saw that one coming, of course. Despite fancying his chances against the planet’s number one fighter and highest paid athlete, Thurman also recently told FightHub TV that he respects Mayweather and his decision.

If Thurman is looking to seriously land this fight, it would seem more than a little late to start gunning for it via ‘verbal persuasion’. Mayweather is the biggest star on Haymon’s books right now, and it’s a given to say he wouldn’t want to risk Thurman clocking up a defeat at this stage of his career. If this is to be Mayweather’s final bout in September, an unblemished record for Thurman would seem far more appealing and lucrative for their pairs’ future business in the sport.
