Frampton vs Quigg - Carl Frampton has criticized Scott Quigg's ring intelligenceFrampton vs Quigg is one of those match-ups that is splitting public opinion right down the middle. But Carl Frampton isn’t one who subscribes to that notion, only seeing one man taking home the IBF and WBA ‘Super’ titles on January 30th, 2016. As it stands, Quigg is Boxing Base’s No.2 Junior Featherweight, and Frampton our No.3.

“I think my amateur background will be the difference,” Frampton told the Daily Star. “My boxing brain is going to win this fight. [Quigg] is manufactured, he doesn’t have a brain never mind a boxing brain.”

“I had my first boxing bout when I was seven. I don’t know what he was doing at seven, probably still eating crayons.”

Ouch. It looks like this hotly contested showdown is already beginning to marinate nicely as both men beginning unloading with verbal barbs. And it would seem Frampton has a strong distaste not just for Quigg, but for the majority of his rival’s team, such as trainer Joe Gallagher and Matchroom chief, Eddie Hearn.

“I don’t like Joe Gallagher, I don’t like Eddie Hearn and their smugness, it p***** me off a bit,” Quigg said. “That’s it really. I’m going out there to silence them too and I will.”

Enough said, Quigg. Plenty of potential taglines for this fight are already coming to mind, in the ilk of ‘Bad Intentions’. But since that one in particular has been etched in for December’s Joshua vs Whyte, I’ll have to think on it some more.
