Garcia vs Malignaggi - Paulie Malignaggi assures he is sharp enough to beat Danny GarciaAhead of Saturday’s clash in Brooklyn, New York, former Welterweight champ Paulie Malignaggi has assured he will be sharp and focused for Danny Garcia. The slick New Yorker, who was crushed by Shawn Porter in 2014, expressed respect for his foe, acknowledging Garcia’s extensive amateur background and tough path to the top.

Malignaggi said though Garcia’s left-hook is a concern, it’s just one of many strengths he will have to neutralize come fight night. Philadelphia-born Garcia is yet to taste defeat, but came very close to last April against a spirited, pumped Lamont Peterson.

Going into the bout, Malignaggi is 33-6, 7 knockouts. Garcia, who holds the RING and WBA titles at 140 pounds, will climb through the ropes 30-0, 17 knockouts.

Malignaggi, known as the ‘Magic Man’, also gave his two cents on Manny Pacquiao and ‘that shoulder injury’, plus Mayweather vs Golovkin. The Brooklyn boxer was colorful and enthusiastic, as always.
