Floyd Mayweather has sparring session as part of open media workoutFollowers of Floyd Mayweather will know sparring footage is hard to come by. During buildups to his fights, media members are more than often asked to shutdown cameras for sparring sessions, or to leave the gym entirely.

But today, Mayweather’s workout, which involved several rounds of sparring, got the green light to be recorded by the media. Mayweather’s September 12th bout with Andre Berto could well be the last time we will see the Pound for Pound King in the ring. Short of a comeback to match Rocky Marciano’s 50-0 record, that is.

As since this could also be Mayweather’s last recorded sparring session, it has to be worth your attention. Showtime cameras caught all the action (see 2:55:06):

At 38, Floyd Mayweather is still looking pretty sharp. Will his superior tool set allow him to completely dominate Andre Berto? Or possibly even knockout the heavy underdog? Going in, Berto is 30-3, with 23 knockouts, and Mayweather 48-0, with 28 knockouts.

Mayweather-Berto will be aired on Showtime PPV, and will also see chief support from Badou Jack and George Groves in a WBC Super Middleweight championship. Boxing Base will be reporting Live Round by Round Updates and reports throughout the night.
