Wlodarczyk’s record now progresses to 49 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw, with 35 knockouts, while the defeated Fragomeni’s drops to 31 wins, 4 losses, 2 draws, with 12 knockouts.

In Northbridge, Australia, then undefeated Chris John succumbed to Simpiwe Vetyeka’s firepower, and also retired in the 6th round. Following the win (at which point scorecards stood at 57-56, 56-58, 55-58), Vetyeka retained his IBO Featherweight title, extending his record to 26 wins and 2 losses, with 16 knockouts. Chris John’s perfect record now contains a blemish and reads 48 wins, 1 loss, 3 draws, with 22 knockouts.

Over in Liverpool, England, Liam Smith retained his British Junior Middleweight title after stopping opponent Mark Thompson early. Thompson proved little work for the unbeaten Smith, and was dropped twice in the 3rd round before being saved from further punishment in the 4th. Smith’s record climbs to 16 wins and no losses, with 6 knockouts, while Thompsons’ falls to 25 wins and 4 losses, with 15 knockouts.

Enzo Maccarinelli (also featured on Smith’s card) dropped veteran opponent Courtney Fry twice en route to a 7th round TKO. Welshman Maccarinelli, who was once a strong force in the Cruiserweight division, will leave the ring pleased to have completed another career-building stepping stone. Maccarinelli’s record now improves to 38 wins and 6 losses, with 30 knockouts, while Fry’s drops to 18 wins and 4 losses, with 6 knockouts.
