Kell Brook fires another insult at Welterweight rival Amir KhanKell Brook Sinks His Claws into Khan…Again

Kell Brook doesn’t like Amir Khan. And Amir Khan doesn’t like Kell Brook. Will they ever fight? Maybe. Maybe not. But in the meantime, Brook (35-0, 24 KO) and Khan (33-3, 19 KO) continue to talk smack about one another, nonetheless. You know, as boxers do.

“I don’t think Khan wants to give the fans what they want to see,” Brook recently told Sky Sports. “He’s not in to the fans. I said it for a long time, it’s the biggest fight out there in Britain, me and Queen Khan.”

Brook then went on to point out what he feels Khan’s biggest weakness is. No guesses.

“I wouldn’t have my hands full. I said it from day one, I said it before, his whiskers are delicate. When this brownie hits his chin, it is going to shatter and he is going to do that dance he likes to do. His whiskers are delicate, brittle. He is Bambi on ice; all of them rolled into one.”

So there you go. More malice from Kell Brook. Hopefully the next time we hear from these guys, the Brook-Khan negotiations would have progressed.

Lamont Peterson, Andre Dirrell to Return in October

Lamont Peterson, who almost beat Danny Garcia last April, will be returning to the ring against Felix Diaz on October 17th. The PBC on NBC headliner is possibly a little deceptive, however. Though Diaz (17-0, 8 KO) is undefeated and a 2008 Gold Medalist, he has fought subpar pro 140-pounders so far, and stands at just 5’5”. Peterson (33-3-1, 17 KO), in contrast, stands at 5’9” and has beaten marquee fighters such as Amir Khan and Dierry Jean. Still, you never know.

Andre Dirrell (24-2, 16 KO), who lost a close decision to James DeGale in May, will also be back in action. He will take on Blake Caparello (21-1-1, 6 KO), a Super Middleweight who made headlines by knocking down Sergey Kovalev in August 2014. What happened after that knockdown won’t be included in Caparello’s highlight reel exactly (FYI: Caparello was torn to shreds). This could be an interesting fight, for sure, and probably a good test for both men.

What’s your take on Kell Brook’s remarks? Will they enter the ‘Brook vs Khan Insults Top 10’? By now one surely exists, right? And what of the Lamont Peterson card?
